Van Dam Custom Boats reinvents the look of Chiara and its day boat concept to provide a versatile platform for even more convenient, on-board entertaining, coastal cruising, fishing, camping, or simply a hang out spot for the families millenials.
Powered with a pair of Volvo Penta’s 260 hp common rail diesels, this 43-foot custom was designed to provide comfortable performance in the low 40’s as well as miserly fuel efficiency. A 300 gallon capacity tank allows day trips to that remote private shore and back without a fuel stop. Duo-prop stern drives offer excellent efficiency and handling, with the ability to sneak into some skinny water. Entertaining in the cockpit is facilitated by the cockpit galley, complete with microwave, hot water, sink, and refrigeration.
Forward in the cavernous cuddy cabin there is room to sleep 5 adults. A fully enclosed head with vacu-flush toilet and a shower is situated between the cockpit and the cabin, and spans the full width of the boat. A hard top was added the second year over the helm and galley, offering welcome shade and a place to anchor the generous canvas enclosure.
Teak decks and a fully Awlgripped exterior assure minimal maintenance, while the simple yet superbly executed custom wood interior leaves no doubt that this is yet another Van Dam timeless build. And who better to refresh the look of a Van Dam?
